Documentation Required for Vessel Registration

1. Proof of vessel ownership
2. Proof of cancellation of any foreign sea vessel registration
3. Proof of vessel's seaworthiness
4. Documentation of vessel's name, weight, official number, and home port
5. Documentation of the vessel's physical measurements

It is highly possible an oath will be required. Additionally, proof of provisional registration for a one-year period may be required. There could be circumstances where these items are not required.

Additional Documentation Needed

• Yacht or ship registration application
• Yacht or ship declaration
• Proof of ownership of vessel, must be notarized
• Foreign marine document or registration of the vessel, must be certified
• Vessel's proof of seaworthiness - inspection report cannot be more than three months older from application receipt date
• Proof of vessel insurance 
• Two color photos of the vessel, each must be 4 x 8 inches. One photo of the vessel must be taken from portside bow to stern, the other from starboard side stern towards the bow
• If Vanuatu is chosen as the home port of the vessel, proof of a radio station license must be furnished
