Dear Stakeholders,
The Vanuatu International Shipping Registry (VISR) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of representation for the Vanuatu flag. It has come to our attention that there have been instances where the flag may not have been appropriately represented in interactions with shipowners and other maritime stakeholders.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind all Recognized Organizations (ROs) and special agents, who have been approved and authorized by VISR, of the expectation to uphold the integrity and professionalism that your designation signifies.
Professional Conduct and Expectations
While we respect the autonomy and technical expertise of our recognized partners, it is imperative that all communications and engagements are constructive, accurate, and in support of the flag's interests. Any statements or actions that could cast doubt, discourage registration, or undermine the Registry's standing must be avoided.
Policy on Misalignment
In the event that VISR identifies any future instances where an RO or agent is not aligned with the Registry’s principles or image, the following actions will be taken:
1. Immediate suspension of the organization’s or agent’s authorization.
2. Request for a formal explanation of the circumstances.
3. A comprehensive review of the entity’s approval status, which could lead to permanent withdrawal of recognition.
As an RO or special agent, your role is crucial in upholding the reputation and global perception of the Vanuatu flag. We rely on your professionalism, integrity, and collaboration to ensure that VISR is accurately and respectfully represented in all dealings.
